Good News from Club Insure

It’s time for a bit of good news, don’t you think? We’ve compiled a list of positive stories from across the country to show the strength and kindness of our communities.

Insurance Industry

  • Where possible, insurers are working hard to help clubs during this tough time.  Feel free to discuss with our team if you have any special areas of concern to get you and the club through, and we will do what we can.
  • Insurers have been reviewing their stance on unoccupied properties, with many offering a 60 day extension. This allows clubs to have peace of mind that their property will be fully insured during the lockdown.

Business News

  • Breweries across the country are allowing clubs to send or bring back unopened casks in return for a full refund. This allows clubs and pubs to temporarily get funds back until they are allowed to reopen. Cheers!
  • Standing charges from electric companies might not amount to huge sums, but many companies are now freezing these charges. Every little helps, after all.

Charitable Giving

  • Ecclesiastical, one of Club Insure’s insurers, has donated £2,500 on our behalf to Prostate Cancer UK. The donation has been given as part of the ‘Closer To You’ grant programme, in which brokers are able to nominate a good cause each month to receive a grant.

Community Focus

  • Southfields Social Club and Institute, a great customer of ours, has set up a private Facebook group for their members to keep in touch. It is also used to ensure elderly and vulnerable members are doing well, and to offer help if needed. They have even set up a weekly virtual bingo club! We think this is a wonderful idea and a great way to stay connected.
  • One of our customers, Avro Football Club, has launched a football kit design competition on Twitter, asking people to design next season’s kit in the NHS rainbow colours. For more information, visit twitter.com/avrofc
  • One of our contacts at The Priory Social Club in Middlesborough had unfortunately contracted the virus. After a stint in hospital we’re very pleased to say that they’re doing well and on the mend! From everyone here at Club Insure, we wish you all the very best.
  • Roehampton Club is supporting its local community by regularly sharing news and updates on their social media pages. This includes a recent post from local garden centres brightening the community by selling and delivering plants and flowers directly to customers.
  • Clubs across the UK are working with local shops and supermarkets to help deliver essentials to people within their community.
  • Community centres are transforming into foodbanks, with hundreds of local volunteers coming out in force to help.
  • Local volunteers and community groups are creating COVID-19 mutual aid groups to support people in need. Find a local group and, if there isn’t one, why not set one up?
  • Pubs and clubs all over the UK have been giving perishable food to the NHS and other great causes. It’s a shame for it all to go to waste, right?
  • Scouts across the country are using 3D printers to create new PPE for NHS workers.
  • Pubs are reopening as takeaways, village shops and foodbanks.
  • Sports clubs and community figures are releasing advice videos and online lessons for homeschooling children

Club Insure Team

  • Let’s get Quizzical! Our team are staying social even during a lockdown, including taking part in a weekly quiz to keep our brains active. Why not try organising a virtual pub quiz for your club members?
