Important Notice – Attempted Scam
We are aware of a fraud attempt being carried out in the name of our Managing Director, Simon Mabb. This scam is attempting to solicit payments from individuals in the name of a dormant company (Refund Protect Ltd), and this fraud is in no way related to Simon Mabb or any companies associated with him.
We can confirm that to our knowledge no existing clients or prospects for any organisations within The Romero Group have been approached in relation to this scam, and we understand the scam target we are aware of was sent entirely at random. There has been no data breach within any Romero Group companies (Romero Insurance Brokers Ltd, Club Insure Ltd, JSV Events Ltd, Sentient Group Ltd) and any information relating to our clients or prospects is secure and protected.
If you are ever in any doubt about any communications you receive claiming to be in the name of one of our businesses or directors, please call our main switchboard to be connected to your usual point of contact who will be able to confirm the legitimacy of any communications. If you do receive a suspicious letter, email or phone call claiming to be from our business or one of our directors/members of staff, please report it to us immediately.
This incident of attempted fraud has been reported to the National Crime Agency and the Financial Conduct Authority with investigations into the incident ongoing.
